JANUARI 2010 : SAAB SUPPORT
CONVOY
SAAB, Proud to own... Happy to drive
A note
to all who made this event a success :
When Saab is in the public eye and someone comes up with a smart idea,
nice things can happen.
When planning and scheming makes people enthousiastic, nice things can
happen.
If all of a sudden it all becomes rather large and knowledgeable help
is at hand, nice things can happen.
And then when all slots into place, all feel the same, magic happens!
As the organisers of “your” Saab Support Convoy 2010 we have savoured
and enjoyed the unity. Not just during the day, but also during the
preparations.
A great help were our sponsors. Their contributions and dexterity to
deploy on behalf of Saab gave us a lot of space, a lot of
opportunities. Space to form our ideas, space to put oomph in our
vision and to make these become reality. A main ingredient was the free
registration and a free souvenir for our participants. We pulled it all
off!
Road and participant's safety produced a lot of work. We can look back
at a day where everything went as planned. And in case of a small
mishap it was solved without anybody noticing a thing. We received
compliments from the Muiden Police force. We all have show that Saab
drivers are sportive but polite road users.
Our call for a positive message has been all over the media. That
attention meant hard work. We have shown the world that Saab is a brand
cherished by enthousiasts, not one of corporate dealings. That
statement, sometimes reinforced with images, came out well whilst sat
on the sofa with wet and cold feet. A piece of apple pie in one hand,
the remote control on record in the other, many a rerun was watched
during the evening without a second of boredom.
The SaabFriendship of forum users, Saab Club members from the
Netherlands and Belgium, from other Saab nutters, forms something that
will stay with us for a long time. Not only those who attended, those
who sent us a message of congratulations afterwards or indeed of those
telling us they hated not having been there, it all adds up to us not
forgetting this for a long time.
The Saab Feeling has never left us. It is stronger than ever before. A
feeling that cannot be explained.
We do not have to either. That is what all saw, on a warm wintery day
in Januari.
What started as an idea in the Netherlands, became something of a Turbo
charged vortex. We are grateful for all our fellow convoy organisers
worldwide. With your unexpected commitment and support together we have
put Saab on the map.
We hope you all had the same fun as we
did.
Griffin Up !
